Our online process & FAQ

Doing things online shouldn't be hard... MK Draft & Design makes getting your plans easy, even if you're far away.

If you're in another part of NSW and want to work with us, here's how we do it:​​

How does online drafting work?

All you need to do is fill out the contact form and provide some info for us to

review. We'll then get in touch with you for a free consultation and then provide

you with a fee proposal. Plans will be produced based on the details of our initial

consultation and on site constraints. We will then discuss the design and make

adjustments until we reach a final concept that you are happy with. Once a

final concept has been found, detailed plans are produced and structural

information is specified on the plans, if available.

These will then be issued to you for submission to either council or a

private certifier, depending on the approval pathway your project requires.

We will maintain both phone and online contact throughout the entire process.

What kinds of projects can be done remotely?

We have designed and drafted many new homes without setting foot on the

land, all we need is a site survey, DP/88B and a good design brief from you.

With the same information we can do any detached building such a garages

& sheds (including council site plans required by shed builders), granny flats

or external site works such as pools & retaining walls.

Additions / extensions, renovations, decks etc. are definitely possible but are most suitable if they are simple & small scale, due to the nature of these projects requiring site visits for measure-ups and inspections.

What's the cost?

Our fees are structured on a project by project basis, are itemized for full transparency and are fixed... so no surprises! We will only charge for hourly

drafting if your scope of work changes beyond what was originally quoted. We don't charge extra fees for council or certifier requested amendments.

Can you help me get my approvals?

We can definitely provide advice, assistance and support through the approval process with yourself being the applicant. We can also handle the entire process for you if you'd prefer.

Can you help with getting a survey / engineer / energy rating?

We can assist with getting the consultants that you need. We are happy to use your preferred engineer / certifier / surveyor etc OR we can find one for you that is local to your project.

As a builder, can I use my logo on the plans that you give me?

Yes, we understand that maintaining your brand image is important so using your business branding on our plans is definitely possible if you wish.​​​​​
